Assembly pics of Massport Fire-Rescue 8x8 Striker scale model

Massport Fire-Rescue Engines 3 and 4 are among the most complex Fire Replicas scale models. Over 800 intricately detailed parts are assembled by a team of 35 skilled men and women over a 3-week period. This follows 18 months of development work including photography, 3D Design, 3D printed prototypes, tooling models and masters and finally, decorated prototypes. Every part in the replica is designed, fabricated or cast, painted and decorated before assembly can begin. The result is an incredibly impressive, precisely authentic replica of the real Oshkosh 8x8 Striker 4500s serving Boston-Logan International Airport. In our business, it just doesn't get much better than this. Stroll alongside the assembly workshop tables and you may find that a Massport Engine is perfect for your collection.

    MASSPORT FIRE-RESCUE ENGINE 4

This is the 3rd rig I've purchased and they are all better than I could have imagined. I had a few pieces loose that I got told how to fix and I have a new appreciation of the work that goes into each model.

    Massport strikers set

Posted by Matt Strauss on 7th Sep 2020

I recently received both of the Massport 8x8 Strikers. Having worked at Pierce and having a hand in the completion of dozens of Strikers over the years, they’re one of my favorite emergency vehicles. Especially the 8X8s. The sheer size of them is jaw dropping and the models are no different. Almost a foot long! I’ve had them about a week and still find myself stopping as I walk by to check them out. And I’m still finding new little details every time. From every single little safety sticker to the individual wires leading to each light bar to the little placards on the railings for foam and water. I could go on and on and on. One detail that jumped out at me most was the little rubber clasps that hold the folding rear ladder in place. Probably smaller than a pinhead and yet still captured in full detail. Simply amazing. Add to all of that the unique color scheme and graphics package on these rigs and you’ve got one heck of a beautiful set of models. Fire Replicas is hands down the leader in scale fire apparatus.

This will prove for be the best looking crash truck Fire Replicas ever produces. As always, an explicitly detailed replica. But even more, the graphics are bold, and impeccable. The American flag is bold and beautiful, but even more, the Boston Strong decal is beautifully done, and continues to pay the tribute deserved.
