About the Scale Model

This Chicago Fire Department 1954 Autocar Squad 8 scale model is a museum grade replica. Like all Fire Replicas models, every detail is modeled to perfection and with razor sharp precision. The replica features the specific department configuration and graphics, leaving no detail overlooked. The display case is custom manufactured with high quality acrylic and resin. The stainless steel etched plate features the department and truck name, and department seal. This replica is a treasure to be displayed and admired and is in no way a toy.

    A magnificent model of unique and beloved prototype

    Those of us who follow the Chicago Fire Department never dared hoped that a model of the iconic Autocrat Squads would ever be produced. As someone who watched these rigs in service, this model is beyond expectations. What a triumph. The only problem I can see is the challenge of surpassing this masterpiece.

    Needless to say I was pleasantly shocked when I learned that Fire Replicas planned on producing this very unique apparatus. What amazed me even further was learning that the diagrams had to be recreated by hand as the original plans were long gone. I've only seen the real apparatus in photos, but from everything I have seen, Fire Replicas absolutely nailed the dimensions on this model. I'm glad I was able to order one before they very quickly sold out, and as a fan of classics I hope this excellent Autocar leads the way to their producing others, like Crowns and Maxims. Well done Nicholas!

    A true reproduction

    Having actually seen the real rigs, I was amazed when I saw the detail of the model. A true reproduction, the detail is just fantastic. I was really glad to see how the mars lights turned out. I did like how Fire Replicas produced the different rigs with the slight variations that the companies added over a few years. This truck has moved to my favorite of the trucks Fire Replicas has produced to date. Can’t wait to see what other surprises we will see in the future. Great job by the folks who helped bring this one together.
